The final deadline for holiday decoration orders for Trees for Toys is Tuesday, November 14! Please consider adding a dollar to each client order to help us provide a 6-ft. tree, Victorian wreath or mini-tree for 200 local veterans who are disabled this year.
Also, plan to start sending out your Trees for Toys invitations to clients in early November so our event gets on their busy holiday calendars.
Minnetonka Office Takes to the Woods for Trees for Toys Event
The smell of pancakes on the griddle and evergreens fill the air at the Minnetonka office’s annual Trees for Toys event at Camp Tanadoona every December. A glowing campfire and Santa and Mrs. Claus in their cottage all add to this holiday kickoff event where clients and prospects come to pick up their Christmas trees, mini-trees and wreaths. The lovely wooded event site in Excelsior initially grew out of a lack of space and parking at the Minnetonka office. Now Camp Tanadoona has been the site of holiday magic since 2012.
On Saturday, December 2, from 9:00 am until 1:00 pm, families can pick up their holiday decorations, fill up on a pancake breakfast, enjoy kids’ activities, a hayride in a horse-pulled wagon and photos with Santa. Local Marines, on behalf of the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation in Minneapolis, are usually on hand to help carry and load Christmas trees and wreaths. Last year, nearly 1,000 families attended, each bringing a toy for the Toys for Tots drive that the Trees for Toys event supports.
“I can’t think of a better way than our Trees for Toys event to get into the Christmas spirit and kick off the holiday season,” says Eric Newman, Minnetonka branch vice president. “Families and kids feel like they’re walking into a Christmas movie when they arrive and join in all the activities that are offered.”
